In order to reduce the amount of $ we’ve been spending (town water and sewerage fees) to water our gardens during the increasing periods of drought that our area has been experiencing and water with non-treated water, we’ve installed a rain water collection system that collects water from our home’s roof. In order to reduce the amount of $ we’ve been spending (town water and sewerage fees) to water our gardens during the increasing periods of drought that our area has been experiencing and water with non-treated water, we’ve installed a rain water collection system that collects water from our home’s roof. Now that our system is in place, we’re impatient for the next rainfall and happy to share what we learned in the process. Here’s a video that we used as a guide for our install that uses a smaller tank (we have our tank sitting on the ground): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLphSEiHroU&t=106s We've ended up with an extra dark green 500 Gallon Norwesco vertical polyethylene water storage tank (4’ diameter, 72” tall) like the one in this link: https://www.tank-depot.com/norwesco-48-inch-wide-500-gallon-plastic-vertical-water-storage-tank-in-green-n-43103 New, it costs ~ $1360 ($979 plus VT tax (~$90) and shipping (~$300)). Asking $650. Must pick up. We can help load. Located in WRJ near Hartford High School
