3-year-old male Australian Shepherd dog named Knox, obedience-trained and crate trained
Looking for a gentle, athletic, smart canine companion? For several months, I have been fostering a big, beautiful, 3-year old male Australian Shepherd. Knox is the smartest dog I have ever worked with and I have had a ton of fun with him out on our trails and fields. Indoors, he waits happily at my feet when I work, is crate trained and respectful of house rules. He’s obedience-trained and quite responsive to cues. A home with children or an apartment in a tightly-packed living situation would be difficult for him.

He is a rescue who can be wary of strangers and has some other foibles we’ve been happily working through with Lebanon trainer Sarah Teffner. The rescue group will support continuing this. He will be a fantastic dog - he is already pretty wonderful -- but through no fault or failing of his, staying with us long term is not feasible.
