Vintage Turkish Anatolian Kilim Rug, 6x10ft slit weave

Size:

6’ x 10’ 3” (with fringe 10’ 6”)

Slit weave, mid 20th c. of Anatolian/Balkan heritage. Wonderful both soft and bold colors! The madder red, charcoal black, chartreuse/pistachio green & muted lavender- grey colors are a hallmark of regional kilims from the broader Ottoman Balkan region (specifically Pirot & Sharkoy kilims)

Woven motifs include: the Tree of Life and avariation of the Pitrak (burdock plant) which is said to be a talisman to ward off the “evil eye” and bring good harvest or prosperity to the home.

Comes with rug pad.

Is in excellent shape. Has been stored. Is a GREAT RUG!!!

Purchased it maybe 30 years ago and I either used it briefly or not at all.

$700 is like 1/2 price…& having sorted out my downsized treasures…I would like someone to enjoy this!
